Welcome to Aesoland
Hunt it. Break it. Carve it. Forge it.
Monster Hunter Outlanders is a free-to-play mobile hunting RPG set on the island of Aesoland. You create a Fated Adventurer, recruit named Adventurers and take on a familiar loop: hunt a monster, break its parts, carve materials, forge better weapons and armor, then chase a harder hunt.
This field guide turns official announcements and beta data into practical answers. Use the monster weakness chart to choose an element, the weapon guides to learn a moveset, and the beginner guides to avoid wasting your first rare materials.

Learn the King of the Skies
Rathalos is still the best teacher in the game: break a wing, respect the fireball and stop chasing the air.
Rathalos
The King of the Skies
Rathalos is the fight that teaches aerial denial. It spends long stretches above the ground, punishes greedy hunters with a fireball, and uses poison claws on the dive. The important shift is to stop treating every airborne pass as a damage opportunity and start treating the landing as the real opening.
The roster
Hunt the right monster next
From Great Jagras to Ruger Aidal, every page gives you a weakness, a break target and a practical fight plan.
Rathalos
The series icon returns with fire, poison claws and a relentless aerial game. Break the wings, cut the tail and learn the landing.
Diablos
A desert bruiser built around horn charges and surprise burrows. Learn the stop timing, bring Ice, and turn its own momentum into part breaks.
Nergigante
An Elder Dragon that gets deadlier when left alone. Target the white spikes, manage the dive and keep the pressure on the forelegs.
Anjanath
A close-range brawler with a fire cone, a leaping bite and a short temper. Break the legs first and the fight slows down.
Legiana
A graceful flier that turns the battlefield into ice. Break the wings, bring Thunder and learn which aerial pass ends in a punishable landing.
Ruger Aidal
Monster Hunter Outlanders' original Elder Dragon. Radiantite armor, golden projectiles and a fight built around breaking plate after plate.

Eight ways to ruin a monster's day
Read the rhythm, not just the tier. Each guide covers combos, skills, matchups and mobile control advice.
Great Sword
Slow swings, enormous payoffs. A charge-heavy powerhouse built around reading the monster and cashing in one perfect hit. Pyro's signature weapon.
Long Sword
Flow, counter, finish. A long-reaching blade that rewards clean counters and Spirit Gauge management. Midori's elegant, evasive playstyle.
Dual Blades
Speed, status and a little chaos. Fast slashes, high mobility and elemental pressure. The easiest weapon to feel busy with, and a favorite of Raya and Keres.
Hammer
Head first, questions later. The head-break specialist. Charge while moving, convert openings into stuns and farm the parts that other weapons cannot crack.
Lance
Hold the line, answer the charge. A shield-first weapon that turns monster aggression into safe counters. Arkaya and Ouyang Varen bring two very different lance styles.
Heavy Bowgun
Ammo, angles and aerial pressure. A ranged cannon with ammo choices, slow movement and big burst windows. Pepper's airborne kit makes it surprisingly mobile.
Bow
Coatings, charge and clean angles. A mobile ranged weapon built around charged shots and coatings. Madelyn and Luka show its support and burst-damage extremes.
Charge Blade
Sword, shield, axe, payoff. A technical morphing weapon with phials, guard points and explosive axe finishers. Confirmed for the launch era; worth learning early.
Assemble the squad
Adventurers worth learning
Named hunters bring unique kits; the Fated Adventurer can use every weapon. Build the team, not just the damage meter.
Madelyn
A Support Bow Adventurer who heals allies, applies Spores and detonates them for damage and buffs. The most tactical backline pick. Place Spores before the monster commits, detonate them during the squad's burst window and keep the backline alive without giving up field control.
Pyro
A front-line Great Sword Adventurer who turns pressure and damage into explosive charged finishers. Built for players who like to commit.
Keres
A Dual Blades Disruptor who chains rapid slashes into enhanced follow-ups. High tempo, high uptime and very little patience for slow monsters.
Arkaya
A Support Lance Adventurer who turns steady attacks into Resolve and spends it on a shielded finishing blow. The squad's safest anchor.
