The Fated Adventurer is the most valuable long-term pick because it can use every weapon. Among named Adventurers, Arkaya and Madelyn bring the clearest team value, while Pyro, Keres and Luka provide strong role-specific damage. Raya is the best free launch option.

Pre-launch Adventurer ranking
This ranking is about usefulness and accessibility, not raw damage. A team of five answers is not a team. Adventurers are strongest when they cover a role the squad is missing.
| Tier | Adventurer | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| S | Fated Adventurer | Free, flexible and future-proof across all weapon types. |
| S | Arkaya | Support Lance with Resolve, shielding and team protection. |
| S | Madelyn | Bow Support with Spores, healing and buff windows. |
| A | Pyro | Great Sword burst and aggressive part breaking. |
| A | Keres | Dual Blades pressure, enhanced follow-ups and stagger support. |
| A | Luka | Mobile Thunder Bow pressure with high weak-point uptime. |
| A | Raya | Free SR Dual Blades Disruptor with excellent mobility. |
| B | Midori | Long Sword flow and Spirit Gauge acceleration. |
| B | Ouyang Varen | Guard-first Lance with Impetus-powered thrusts. |
| B | Pepper | Aerial Heavy Bowgun disruption with a higher execution curve. |
| B | Freya | Fire Great Sword Disruptor; availability and balance need launch data. |
Field note
The free roster is stronger than it looks
The Fated Adventurer is available from the start and can wield every weapon. Raya is expected to be delivered through the pre-registration milestone. Together, they cover two distinct playstyles without requiring a single pull.
That does not make the gacha meaningless. Named Adventurers have unique kits and classes, and a well-built Arkaya can make a dangerous hunt much safer. But a new player should not feel locked out of the game before recruiting an SSR.

Best team compositions
A balanced four-player hunt usually wants a front-line anchor, a source of sustained damage, a burst part-breaker and one flexible slot. In a solo squad, the AI Adventurers fill the missing roles.
For progression, a Support plus a shield is the safest combination. For farming, swap one support for a second damage dealer and focus the same part together. The character pages list ideal partners for each Adventurer.
| Goal | Suggested team |
|---|---|
| Safe first clear | Fated (Lance), Arkaya, Madelyn, flexible DPS |
| Part-break farming | Pyro, Keres, Midori, Fated support |
| Ranged pressure | Luka, Madelyn, Pepper, Arkaya |
| Free-to-play start | Fated, Raya, and story-provided Adventurers |
Field note
Who should you pull for?
Pull for a kit that matches a weapon you already enjoy. If you love Dual Blades, Keres makes more sense than pulling Pyro simply because the Great Sword is strong. If you want a safer squad, Arkaya or Madelyn will change more hunts than another damage pick.
Wait for confirmed launch banner details and odds. Pre-launch tier lists cannot price a character accurately when free-currency income and banner timing are still unknown.
Budget rule
If you are chasing a featured Adventurer, budget toward the guaranteed pull ceiling shown in the live banner. Never treat an early SSR as a promise.
Field note
Which named Adventurer is best overall?
Arkaya has the clearest universal value because a shield and team protection fit almost every dangerous encounter. Madelyn is the strongest support for a coordinated ranged squad. For pure carry potential, Pyro and Keres are the most straightforward launch-era damage picks.
Luka and Midori are excellent when the monster exposes wings or a tail, while Ouyang Varen is a better pick for players who already understand Lance guard points. Freya's launch availability will determine whether she can be recommended as a day-one investment.
