Nergigante is weak to Thunder and Dragon. Break the horns first and bring a Lance if you want the cleanest first clear. Break the white spikes before they harden.
Field notes
Nergigante overview
Nergigante is a resource race disguised as a brawl. Its spikes grow from white to black, and hardened spikes are both more dangerous and harder to break. The answer is controlled aggression: hit the bright white growths before they harden, then reposition before the dive.
Thunder is the most consistent element. Foreleg breaks create long topples, but the head and wing spikes are the better damage targets when the monster is down. A shield weapon can hold through some physical chains, while Bow can keep the spike parts in view.

What to break
Breakable parts & materials
The recommended break order is: 1. Horns, 2. Forelegs, 3. Wing spikes, 4. Tail. This is the safest sequence for a typical first hunt. If your armor or weapon recipe needs a specific part, target that break and leave the rest for a later run.

Hunt plan
How to beat Nergigante
Take the white spikes when they appear
White spikes are unfinished and vulnerable. The longer you ignore them, the harder they become. Rotate to the newest bright cluster, break it and move before the counter-swipe.
Learn the dive, not just the roar
The roar is a warning, not the attack itself. Watch the body lift and the spikes flare, then move away from the landing line. Do not commit to a long combo when the forelegs are fully darkened.
Foreleg breaks create the best windows
Both forelegs can break. A broken leg drops Nergigante into a longer stagger and gives the whole squad a clean head window. This is more reliable than trying to cut the tail during an enraged sequence.
Do not greed the tail
The tail is severable, but it is a low-priority target during the first clear. If your squad needs the tail material, wait for a foreleg topple or a successful mount before committing a full sever cycle.

Radiant form & variant notes
No separate Radiant form has been clearly confirmed for Nergigante. Aesoland's ecosystem is still changing, so this page will be updated if one appears in a future update. For the confirmed transformations, see the Radiant species guide.
Preparation
Nergigante checklist
- Thunder is the best general element; Dragon is a viable second.
- Break white spikes before they turn black.
- Foreleg topples are the safest opening for head damage.
- Respect the dive and save a dodge for the landing.
First-clear rule
Pick one break, one element and one safe punish. Do not try to optimize the entire hunt before you have survived it once.
