The poison-garden medic · Pukei-Pukei apothecary gear

A Support Bow Adventurer who heals allies, applies Spores and detonates them for damage and buffs. The most tactical backline pick.

Madelyn, the Pukei-Pukei-inspired Support Bow Adventurer MHO roster / SR
Quick answer

Madelyn is a Support-class Bow Adventurer. Medicine, poison and a field full of spores. The best starting point is a Bow built around the role, with a Pyro alongside.

Who they are

Madelyn overview

Madelyn is the closest thing Outlanders has to a field medic with a damage plan. Her Bow kit mixes medicines and Spores, then lets her detonate those Spores for damage while boosting herself and nearby allies. She is a Support Adventurer who wants to be active, not a pure heal button.

Her Pukei-Pukei-inspired equipment signals the poison/apothecary theme, but her real value is zoning. Place Spores before a monster charges, detonate when the squad is ready and use the buff window to push a part break.

Kit breakdown

Madelyn abilities & playstyle

Spore fields

Apply Spores to create a tactical setup. Think about where the monster will stand, not just where it is standing now.

Detonation support

Detonating Spores deals damage and boosts Madelyn and nearby allies. The timing matters: a buff during a topple is worth more than one during a retreat.

Field medicine

Her support kit keeps the squad in the fight. Do not sacrifice your own position to heal someone who ignored a telegraphed attack.

In the field

How to play Madelyn

Positioning

Stay near the ranged teammates but at a different angle. A single sweep or projectile should not be able to hit the entire backline.

Strengths

Team healing, damage amplification and Spore-based area control. She raises the ceiling of a coordinated squad.

Weaknesses

Lower personal damage than Assault Bow users and a kit that needs timing. Random detonations waste most of her value.

Squad planning

Best team role & partners

Madelyn's primary value is squad sustain, spore damage and buff windows. Pair them with Adventurers who cover the opposite job: a Support if they are an Assault, or a burst damage dealer if they are holding the monster in place.

Weapon pairing

Best weapons for Madelyn

Start with the Bow guide. The Bow is the best ranged starting point for most players. It is active, readable and useful against flying targets, while still leaving room for high-level coating and stamina play.

  • Pukei-Pukei tree
  • Rathalos tree
  • Thunder Bow tree

Weapon rule

Madelyn is built around the Bow. Swapping trees changes the element and raw profile, but it will not change the Adventurer's core kit.
