Ouyang Varen overview
Ouyang Varen is the Lance's more aggressive face. He still wants to guard, but his Impetus mechanic rewards successful defense by powering up his thrusts. The result is a character who becomes more dangerous the longer he stays engaged with the monster's patterns.
His Barroth-inspired armor reinforces the fantasy of a hunter who plants his feet and makes the monster deal with him. He is an excellent choice for players who want to learn a shield weapon without giving up the Assault role.
