The first original Elder Dragon
Ruger Aidal was revealed during the Gamescom 2026 cycle as Monster Hunter Outlanders' own flagship Elder Dragon. Unlike the returning World-era roster, it was designed specifically for Aesoland and the Radiantite story.
The official presentation describes it as an Elder Dragon that hardens Radiant particles into armor, using the resulting golden plating for both defense and offense. It can also draw Radiant particles from its surroundings and launch them as projectiles.

How the fight is shaping up
The hunt is built around plate management. The golden armor absorbs damage and powers attacks, so breaking a plate is both your defensive answer and your main damage window. A shield weapon can learn the projectile patterns safely; ranged weapons can keep the plates in view while the melee squad creates a topple.
Our pre-launch Ruger Aidal guide covers the confirmed design, likely weak points and the preparation checklist. Exact launch values will be updated after release.

What it means for the endgame
A new flagship gives the live-service roadmap a clear destination. Launch players can work toward the Elder Dragon, while future updates have room to add new Aesoland monsters and more difficult forms. The build progression around Radiantite also suggests a separate high-end gear path from the returning monster trees.
